Over the past weekend we went to the fair. We had a blast. Karma got to ride a pony and she really had a great time. She also rode her first roller coaster. I think she loves them as much as me. Shae and I can't wait to take her to Disneyland. We are going to have a blast doing that. Just need to save up millions of dollars as that will be one expensive ass trip. But soooo worth it.

Anyways, the fair rocked. Sun was out. Hot, but totally manageable. Coming from hot ass Texas, the weather up here in the north west is WUSS. We ate funnel cake, my fav... yum yum among other sweets. Shae and I also ate some mondo huge burgers which turned out to be pretty tasty. A big and I mean BIG ass serving of fries. They were a bit soggy, cause it was such a mountain of them, but still, they were damn TASTY. We also walked around all the animal grounds. Cows, by the way, are freaking HUGE. Holy crap. We probably spent 6 or so hours there. Just a great time.

We probably have gone out more living up here in the Seattle area which has only been since April, than the entire time living in Texas. And by gone out, I mean to out door events or whatever. It was so hot in Texas, you only went out doors to get to the car or to get inside a building. You didn't go to the park or have a picnic. And you sure as hell didn't go to a fair ground.

Dare I ask, what's next?

So my last post about my health, the count was 2 boils. Well as the 2nd one was finally oozing, I got 2 more staph infections. This time on my left leg. Apparently, I wasn't going to be walking right for a month or more (har har har). These 2 were about 3 inches from each other. Painful as hell. This time though, I had medical insurance. I go to the docs and he is like, wow.. I haven't seen an infection that big since medical school. Not a great thing to hear. He pokes and puss just ooooozes out.... yuck.

He gives me anti-bods. YEAH FOR ME.

Well Monday I finished my anti bods. I have never had an allergic reaction to any meds my entire life. Well guess what. Sunday, I had a fever of 100.7. Monday my fever rose to 101.7. I have a heat rash over my entire body. All from the meds to stop getting more staph.

Maybe it is a sign that I shouldn't be living up here in the north west.

So now I am finished with my anti-bods. I am happy to report at this time, I have zero staph infections. I am taking claritin and advil like clock work to fight off this allergic reaction.

And by the way, I hate taking medicine. And if that is not all comedy, the rash iches... and it makes me look all sun burnt. Fucking joy

Go me.

Amazing

Its amazing and I really don't get how you can stretch and bend a situation to show someone who is drunk wouldn't be responsible for killing someone. I read the article and its shocking that those arguments could be made. To which I say, simply, the drunk should never have been driving the car. Once he is in the car, I would think all bets are off. Perhaps that is a new law that needs to be written. If your blood alchol level is above the legal limit and you get behind the wheel, you have zero protection. I honestly can't think of a real reason to drive drunk.

Erik, I am sure you can shed a ton of light on this.

Kick me while I am down......

Go for it!

Fuck.... a new boil / infection. It is below my jaw line. It fucking hurts like a bitch. My teeth hurt. Its red and puffy and it is putting off some serious heat.

And for those reading along, my leg isn't healed. So I guess one place wasn't enough for me to deal with. But the pain is now focused in the face area.

Fucking joy...

Medical insurance on the 1st. Which by the way, is the same day I fly down to SF to get all my shit on the 2nd. That's going to be a riot. Loading the god damn truck with this pain in the face. I will be eating ADVIL

Staph....again

Could it be the west coast weather that causes me to have these? The 3 years in Texas, I got some small infections, 2 total. They weren't that bad. I get here to the west coast and now I have an insane staph infection. For those of you that remember the one on my face, this one is bigger! This fucker is huge. And it hurts like a sombitch. Its on my inner right thigh. So walking is a major pain in the ass. This is my 2nd weekend with it, but it is finally draining and getting easier to deal with. Last weekend, I was in soo much pain I could barely walk.

And I don't have medical insurance till May 1st, so no antibods this time around. I think they do help clean up the infected area, cause this time around, it is just bloody and full of puss and taking forever to drain out. I know I am on the downside only cause the pain is less, the swelling is less and the heat from the wound is all but gone.

We asked 1 pharmacist if there was anything over the counter we could take to help heal the wound. He said not really. If I google the problem, I get nothing but articles that suggest I take their medicines. I am sure if I spend more time diggin, I might find something useful, but I really doubt it. I think we might hit up a Whole Foods and talk to their peeps... they usually seem to know a good solution for something.

No pics this time. I know you all are probably dying to see it, but I will spare you all. Its gross, trust me. Shae wanted to vomit. 8) I am pretty sure there are a few of you that would vomit if you did see it. 8)

I say no more diet drinks, but I am sure I will buy them again. These studies are just crazy. The shit we put in our bodies.

14hours... my ass

Pacific Grove, CA to Bellevue, WA...... 900+ miles, 14hours drive time. Well when you add in stopping for fuel, food, streching and pissin, lets just call it 17 hours or so.

This drive is long. And hard to do with a dog and a 3 year old. But all in all, it was fun.

Thankfully Shae enjoys driving and can drive for long extended periods. I give her hell, but really, she rocks the driving.

I had an interview at Microsoft. It went ok. I don't think I will get the job, horrible way of thinking already, but it is just how I felt. Jon says to hold out hope cause they may take a week or so to make a decision. I know there were a couple of other dudes that interviewed... so hopefully my smiling personality won over the position... cause I know my tech skills didn't.

Other than that, just job hunting. There are a lot of postings out there, but I am not really getting any good bites. Perhaps I am being too impatient.... I dunno..

Stressfully,
-D

Watchmen

God I love the movies. I am still jobless, stressed out and all of that crap that goes along with real life, but then I buy a ticket to a movie and for 3 hours, I can forget about all of it.

This movie was truly amazing. Just so awesome.

Karma

Karma, originally uploaded by buzzlghtyr.

Shae was a bit sick during our trip back to Cali. So we would stop during the afternoon and this day, I was able to get a decent picture of Karma. I tried to capture some of the huge empty-ness of what I am pretty sure is New Mexico.

I need to work on some more pics and get them uploaded. I honestly didn't take that many... was too busy driving and just trying to make it.

BTW, those 5 hour energy bottles work pretty well. It felt like good energy boost, not all sugar and nasty.

Just an fyi

nightmare

Well we are packed and on the road. The nightmare part comes from getting a 17' Uhaul truck and it not being big enough for our stuff. So at 5:30pm last night, we bolted to a storage place and got a 5 x 15 storage room, then over to home depot and rented the truck. By 9pm, the storage room was full. And would you believe, there is still shit in the house that wouldn't fit. We didn't take the couch, we had talked about this for a while. We didn't take our tv stand. And then lots of other little pieces of furniture, like little pine bookshelves I built for Karma, little table she had.... stuff like that.

Way too much stuff.

Talk about stress.

But we are on the road. We stayed at some hotel that is about 40 miles outside of Houston. Our goal was to get to San Antonio, but we couldn't drive any longer last night. We made it as far as our bodies would let us. And it was like 1am when we rolled into this hotel. San Antonio is still another 130+ miles.

Ugh.

Sleep

So I am reading this interesting article on why people fail or stall during weight management (diet etc). It said to sleep for 8 hours. Pick a time you usually wake up, minus it by 8 and make it a routine.

I sat here and thought about that. I am usually up at 5:30am. So minus 8 hours puts me to 9:30pm at night. I know for the first few nights, I would just lay there, but given enough time, I could probably fall asleep that early and sleep a nice 8 hours.

But then I started to think about the rest of the day. Sleeping 8 hours is not really wasting life, it is more the fact we have to work 8 hours and spend all this time having lunch and communting, so our home hours suffer. And then I think, FUCK THAT. I want time at home. With Shae and Karma. Eating, playing, watching tv, whatever. Who the hell can sleep that long? If I tried it, I would get home around 5pm and only have 4.5 hours with the family. That is not a balanced life style. That's fucked.

Anyways, interesting enough thought....
